Hess’ Apprenticeship: In support of Baltimore Corps’ initiatives and programming, Hess creates content across all communications channels, including print and digital media, with a focus on community priorities and aspirations.
Background: Hess has a background in grassroots communications and socioemotional community organizing. They write about intimate politics: how overarching systems affect how we view ourselves and each other. Before Baltimore Corps they engaged in family centered community organizing and participated in work with World on My Shoulders, Not Without Black Women, Baltimore Free School of Black Feminism and Intersectionality and local spiritual groups. Hess has an extensive background in Feminist Theory, African Diasporic Traditions, Indigenous Storytelling and Poetry.
